Meet the Crew of Fat Bottom Girl, husband and wife team of David and Jackie Kettering. They both hold their 100 Ton Masters License and have been boating their entire lives. David, a native of Baltimore spent his early years cruising the Chesapeake Bay; while Jackie, a native of Swans Island Maine grew up in the islands lighthouse and spent time on her families lobster boat. Together they own and operate a commercial construction company and have been business partners for over 20 years. However, the draw to return to a less stressful lifestyle has led them to chartering. “Why not do what we love to do and share the experience with others?” They’ve spent the last few years extensively cruising the Bahamas and South Florida. The Kettering’s are not just the crew, but the Owners of Fat Bottom Girl so you can rest assured they know the boats systems inside and out.
Their philosophy on cruising is to take one day at a time, slow down and enjoy the peace and serenity the Islands have to offer. Cruising is the experience of swinging on the hook, enjoying dinner on the cockpit while watching the sunset, having a night cap on the fly bridge while counting stars, and watching dolphins swim in your bow wake while exploring the beauty of the out islands.
